I think the flipped classroom idea/concept is even better than the traditional way of running a classroom. It is a strategy with blended learning in which an instructor and/or teacher includes online lessons and in class lessons as part of their teaching strategies. Usually, instructional content is delivered online, outside of the classroom and that material leads to in class activities within the physical classroom. I think this mix of blended learning leads to a more engaging environment in the classroom and helps students to learn more about technology and incorporate it into their learning experience.
Open educational resources (OER) are freely accessible resources that are useful for teaching and learning. They are resources that anyone can access and use and are usually found as online resources. These resources are “open” to the public to retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute any given material for free. I have provided a link below to a website that gives examples and reviews of well-known OER for anyone to use. It includes a list of specific OER resources and what each individual resource consists of. Click HERE for more information provided on this website.
I thought the PowerPoint assignments were so much fun! I learned many new things while working on these assignments. Basically everything I did was new information for me because I have rarely used PowerPoint. I made a Jeopardy game for the second assignment which I did not know you could do on PowerPoint, so it was really interesting to learn all of the tools that PowerPoint provides to make a game of Jeopardy possible. I learned how to link slides to one another, insert action buttons, and to disable linear navigation which were all new skills for me. There wasn’t anything I did not like about the assignments, I had a lot of fun working on both and learning new skills that I can use in my future career as a teacher.
